Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK-B) is a holding company owning subsidiaries engaged in a number of diverse business activities, including property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, utilities and energy, finance, manufacturing, retailing and services.
Since 1965, Berkshire Hathaway's stock has averaged an annual gain of 20.3%, leading to an aggregate return, through 2019, of 2,744,062%!! Or looking at it another way, $100 invested at the beginning of 1965 would have been worth more than $2.7 million by the end of 2019. I'd call that a successful operating model.
